Weathered Wood Duck Decoy Cookies

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
We sure did, but now I am ready to move on. I decided to do some "just because" cookies today. Mostly because I found some darling new cookie cutters at a local shop and just couldn't wait to try them out.
I'm not sure, but I might have just created a new cookie technique. :)

I based the cookies with cream and tan colored royal frosting the night before so it would be completely dry this morning. Then I used a small X-acto knife to score "weathered wood" lines into the frosting.

I then applied powdered and liquid food coloring with a brush, to get that antiqued look.

I really like how they turned out! I think hubby will feel special eating these.
He usually gets the flops. Thought I should do something special just for him. :)

If you love them, please share and pin! :)

Thanks so much for dropping by!
